Construction Phase Inspections
Are you considering having a new house built?
Or, are you currently in the construction process?
Phase Inspections are a vital step of the building process.
Phase inspections are conducted throughout the various phases of construction and at the completion of the house. When a home is inspected throughout the building process, mistakes and shortcuts can be identified and corrected while they’re still visible.
The Phase 1 Inspection focuses on the foundation before a slab is poured.
Our inspector will evaluate the foundation elements to make sure they have been assembled according to the engineer’s requirements as drawn on the blueprints. This includes a visual inspection and measurement of beams, fill, reinforcement steel, post-tension systems, forms, and moisture barriers.
The Phase 2 Inspection covers inspection of framing, fire-blocking, insulation, plumbing, electrical, roof, duct work, and ventilation systems before these systems are hidden from view by drywall and flooring.
The Phase 3 Inspection (Final Inspection) is a complete inspection of the home’s structure and systems to ensure the completion of the home to current building standards before closing takes place.
All of our inspections are performed by professionally licensed and insured inspectors in accordance with Texas law and the standards of practice set forth by the Texas Real Estate Commission.

“To date, my wife and I have used Smartguard 1 time. It was for pre-slab inspection. The company went out on various occasions just to check up on the plot, relayed any findings, has not hesitated to respond promptly. Even though it is just the 1st inspection, the company has participated in emails between my wife and I, the builder and our realtor for over 6 months. Due to the profession alism and promptness, I plan on using the services in the future.
